I have an Omnibook 5, which does not support LE Audio. Is there a way to update the driver or update something else to support LE Audio?  It is a brand new laptop, and I was hoping that it would connect to my hearing aids, which use Bluetook LE Audio.

Hi @DBR-Seattle,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you’re excited to connect your hearing aids and find they won’t work. Let’s walk through this together and see how we can help you stream sound seamlessly.

Steps to Check & Fix

1. Verify Windows Version
Open Settings → System → About and confirm if you’re on Windows 11 version 22H2+ (ideally 24H2).

2. Check Your Bluetooth Hardware

  • Press Win + X → Device Manager → Bluetooth → [Your Adapter] → Properties → Details tab.
  • Look at the Supported Features and check for mention of LE Audio, LC3, or TMAP.
  • If none appear, your adapter likely doesn’t support LE Audio.

3. Install HP Bluetooth Drivers

  • Go to your specific HP OmniBook 5 model support page, like the Next Gen AI variant (model 16-af1000), and navigate to Software & Drivers.
  • Download and install any available Bluetooth and audio subsystem drivers; this ensures you have the latest LE-capable versions from HP.

Here's the official link to access support and drivers for your model:

4. Enable LE Audio in Windows Settings

  • Once updated, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices, and toggle “Use LE Audio when available” on.

5. Pair Your Hearing Aids

  • Make sure your hearing aids are in pairing mode.
  • In Bluetooth & devices, click Add device and choose them when they appear.
  • If your hearing aids support LE Audio and the laptop is configured properly, you should be able to stream, both as an output and possibly using TMAP for mic input.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
