HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC 15-eh2000 (4V3L6AV)

The charging that is displayed in hp pavilion 15 windows laptop is stuck at 99% i.e. it does not show any sign of discharging until it gets shutdown due to low battery. After restarting it starts to show the charging percentage properly until when it gets fully charged after which the issue continues the same.

Calibrate the Battery:

  • Calibrate your battery by fully charging it, then fully discharging it, and then fully recharging it again. This can reset the battery sensor.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and use the laptop on battery power until it shuts down.
  • Recharge the battery fully before using the laptop again.

Battery Health Check:

  • Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to check the battery health. Ensure the battery cycle life is within specifications and hasn't degraded prematurely.
  • If results indicate "calibrate" or "replace," follow the recommended action.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Make sure your BIOS, battery drivers, and any relevant software updates are installed. These updates can sometimes fix issues related to battery management.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options and ensure your power plan settings are properly configured. Reset any custom settings to default to avoid unnecessary battery drain.

Advanced Power Settings:

  • Access the advanced power settings through Control Panel and ensure settings for battery notifications and actions on critical status are correctly set.

Visual Inspection:

  • Check the charging port and cable for any visible damage that might interfere with proper function. Ensure connections are snug and undamaged.

And yes it got solved, as I had no other way of knowing when my laptop had low battery so the discharge and complete charge method solved it.
