@Smit_1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Mouse Pad Issues on HP Laptops!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your mouse pad or touchpad is not working despite all updates being installed, you can follow these troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check Touchpad Settings

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Navigate to Devices > Touchpad.
  3. Ensure that the touchpad is enabled. If it is disabled, enable it.

Step 2: Update or Rollback Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
  2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  3. Right-click on your touchpad and select Update driver. Follow the prompts to update the driver.
    • If the issue started after a recent driver update, you can try rolling back the driver: Right-click the touchpad, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and click Rollback Driver if the option is available.

Step 3: Check for Hardware Issues

  1. Restart your laptop and tap the ESC key to enter the BIOS settings.
  2. Use the touchpad in the BIOS to see if it works there.
    • If the touchpad does not work in the BIOS, it may indicate a hardware issue. In such a case, it is recommended to contact HP support for further assistance.

Step 4: Run Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  2. Select Additional troubleshooters and then select Hardware and Devices.
  3. Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
