Looking for the BIOS file for an HP 15-p043cl notebook. Product number G6U06UA#ABA, serial number >Do not include the product serial number or any private information.<. Current BIOS version is F.57.
HP's website doesn't show any information for this notebook. Entering in the serial number, it comes up with the wrong notebook.
It's having an issue with not turning on sometimes, and the CAPS button small white LED blinks twice. From what I'm finding on the web, that indicates a corrupt BIOS. This laptop doesn't have BIOS Recovery, so my only option is to find a BIOS file to use. I can get it booted by doing a hard reset, holding the power button for about 30 seconds will get it booted up, but that doesn't actually fix the issue. I haven't tried pulling the internal CMOS battery out, I didn't want to tear it apart if I didn't have to.
Thanks, PB

HP has retired support for the model series since it is more than 10 years old.

Thank you very much Paul, that did the trick. I've restarted, shut down many times, and the problem seems to be gone.
My friend who owns this PC will be very happy once he gets it back. I just installed a new SSD and upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 25H2, and it's running perfectly.
Thanks again, PB

The original issue was resolved, but a couple of new issues were created, which so far I was able to fix. Just an FYI, don't need any assistance with this.
1.
After booting up and letting it sit and being idle for a short while, the mouse and keyboard were unresponsive. It took a long press of the power button to shut it down, and then it would boot up normally. I did a second BIOS reflash and changed some of the power options. That seems to have fixed that issue, so far.
2.
Sometimes when I would shut the PC down, it didn't totally shut down. The power button LED was still on, and the fan was still running. A long press of the power button was needed to power it off completely. Changing settings for "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface", Power Management, allow the computer to turn off the device to save power, I unchecked that box, and that seems to have fixed that issue. Now it shuts down completely every time now, so far.
Thanks, PB
