Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The network security key for your HP printer is essentially the WiFi password that allows your printer to connect to a network. Here are ways to find it.
Check the Router
- The network security key (WiFi password) is usually printed on a label on the back or bottom of your router.
- Look for terms like:
- SSID/Network Name (this is your WiFi name)
- Network Security Key/WPA Key/WEP Key (this is your WiFi password)
Find It on Windows (If Your Computer is Already Connected)
If your HP Pavilion 15 laptop is already connected to WiFi, you can retrieve the key:
- Open Control Panel.
- Go to Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on your WiFi network name.
- In the WiFi Status window, click Wireless Properties.
- Go to the Security tab and check Show Characters.
- The network security key (WiFi password) will be displayed.
Find It on Your HP Printer
If you are setting up your HP Printer, you might need the WiFi Direct password:
- On most HP printers:
- Press the Wireless or Information button to print a Network Configuration Page.
- Look for WiFi Direct Name & Password on the printed page.
If you're looking for a password to access printer settings, it may be admin by default or found in the HP Smart app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
