Product: OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-137c

Hi,

 

I have an Omen870C with 32gb Ram, 256 gb SSD, Intel  i7-6700k cpu @4.00Ghz and Win 10.

 

The computer does not qualify for Win 11 because of the Intel processor.

 

Can I simply replace the processor to one on the "approved" list for Win 11?

Hi:

 

Your PC' s motherboard cannot support an Intel 8th gen core processor which is the minimum Intel processor Microsoft has indicated is supported for W11.

 

I am running W11 24H2 just fine on my HP desktop PC which has an Intel i5-6500T processor, and I have been running W11 on it ever since 2022, when I bought the PC used.

 

You can do this easy workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks so you can do an in-place update from W10>W11:
