Tablet Mode only worked on the first day I received the device. Since then, I’ve reset the laptop multiple times with no success. I’ve installed all available updates and used HP Support Assistant, but the screen still doesn’t rotate.

Step 1: First, Use the HP-Specific Drivers (Especially the BIOS)
Ensures your laptop's specialized firmware and base drivers are stable and correct for your hardware.
- Start with the HP BIOS Update. This should be your top priority. A BIOS update can resolve fundamental communication issues between the sensor, motherboard, and operating system.
- Then, install the other HP drivers, including the graphics driver from the HP support site.
If you have installed all the HP drivers (especially the BIOS) and the screen rotation still isn't working, then it's a great idea to use the AMD tool.
Step 2: Then, Use the AMD Auto-Detect Tool
Provides a potential upgrade to the graphics driver if the newer version from AMD resolves an issue that the HP-tested version hasn't yet incorporated.
- Go to the AMD driver website you found: https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
- Download and run the "Auto-Detect and Install" tool.
- The tool will scan your system and recommend the latest official AMD drivers for your Ryzen AI 5 340 processor and Radeon 840M graphics.
- Install the drivers it suggests and restart your laptop.
Please try the HP BIOS and driver updates first, as they are tailored for your laptop. If the problem persists, then using the AMD auto-detect tool is the perfect next step.
This combined approach ensures we cover both the manufacturer-specific fixes and the latest general performance updates from AMD.

It sounds like the auto-rotation sensor or drivers might not be working correctly. Try checking: Action Center > Rotation Lock (make sure it’s off) Device Manager > Sensors – look for any issues or missing drivers Run HP's UEFI diagnostics to test the hardware sensor If you're documenting this issue for support, tutorials, or creating visual guides, AI tools can help speed up the process.
