HP OmniBook X Flip 14

I'm having an issue where OneNote keeps freezing and not responding.

One of the solutions I have found is to install an older graphics driver from July 2024, where can I find this?

Thanks

Hi @john-technegol,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You’re on the right track. Rolling back to an older graphics driver can often resolve OneNote freezing issues on Windows 11. Here’s how you can get the July 2024 graphics driver for your HP OmniBook X Flip 14:

HP provides official drivers for your model on its support page. You can access it here:
👉 Official HP® Support

Steps to Find the July 2024 Graphics Driver

  1. Go to the HP Support page linked above.
  2. Enter your exact model number (e.g., 14-fm0000) if prompted.
  3. Select your Operating System:
    Windows 11 version 24H2 or 25H2 (64-bit).
  4. Scroll down to the Driver-Graphics section.
  5. Look for older versions; HP usually lists previous releases under “Previous Versions” or “All Drivers.”
    • The July 2024 driver should appear with a date in the description.
  6. Download and install it manually.

Alternative Sources

If HP’s site only shows the latest driver:

  • Use HP Support Assistant (preinstalled or downloadable from HP) to check archived drivers.
  • For Intel Arc or NVIDIA GPUs, you can also use their official archives:

💡 Tip: Before installing the older driver, uninstall the current graphics driver via Device Manager → Display adapters → Uninstall device, then restart and install the downloaded version.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you for the reply VikramTheGreat,

The only previous version on the HP website is from September 2025. It's an AMD Graphics driver I have tried on the AMD website also but I don't think they have any drivers for the AMD grahics on an HP device.

We purchased the laptop in August 2025 so that may be why the HP site doesn't list any earlier drivers for this model.

Thanks

John

Thanks for trying to help VikramTheGreat,

Here are the details..

Material Number: BH3E8EA#ABU
Material: Description HP OmniBook X FlipNGAI 14-fk0007na
EAN/UPC: 199251108747

I bought this laptop for my daughter in August so she could start university in October, but she’s had constant issues with OneNote not responding. I’ve already tried all the usual fixes clearing the cache, repairing Office, disabling hardware acceleration, setting max graphics performance, rolling back drivers, etc. I work in systems development and support, so I’m confident these steps were done correctly.
The problem has caused her to fall behind with her work and a lot of stress. I’ve since bought her a Microsoft Surface Pro, which runs OneNote flawlessly. That proves to me the issue is with the laptop itself, not OneNote or Windows. I’ll be trying to return it as it’s clearly not fit for purpose.

John
