@BLLRO, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP PC is not starting, and I’ll be happy to help you get it up and running again. Please follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue:

Check Power Supply

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the PC and the wall outlet.
  • Try a different wall outlet or power strip.
  • If you're using a laptop, check if the charging LED is on. If not, try a different charger if available.

Look for Signs of Power

  • Do you see any lights (power LED, keyboard backlight) or hear any fan or drive noises?
    • If yes, the issue may be with the display or boot process.
    • If no, it could be a power or hardware issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • For laptops:
    1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power adapter.
    2. Remove the battery (if removable).
    3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
    4. Reconnect the battery and power, then try turning it on.
  • For desktops:
    1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power cord.
    2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
    3. Plug the power cord back in and try starting the PC.

Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

If the PC powers on but doesn’t boot:

  1. Turn off the PC.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (once every second) until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Run the System Tests to check for hardware issues.

External Monitor Test (for laptops)

If the screen stays black:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or VGA.
  • Press Fn + F4 (or the appropriate key) to switch displays.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
