@bill11447,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

It is my understanding that the LED for the power button is typically controlled by the laptop's firmware or hardware design and is not customizable. Most laptops, including your HP 15t-fd000, does not have a built-in option to keep the power button LED illuminated when the device is powered off or in standby mode.

Suggestions for a Practical Solution:

  1. Use a Backlit Keyboard (if available):

    • To toggle the backlight, press the F5 or another designated key (marked with a backlight icon).
  2. External Lighting:

    • A simple USB-powered dimmable LED light like this example or a small desk lamp can provide enough illumination to make finding the power button easier.
  3. Glow-in-the-Dark Sticker:

    • Apply glow-in-the-dark tape on the power button. This would be inexpensive and will remain visible at night after absorbing light during the day, such as this example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
