I just want to know if I can add RAM to my 4GB computer and if so, can you tell me what amount of RAM and what type of RAM do I need to get?  Thanks so much, I am a novice with computers.

You're very welcome, Robert.

Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook:

HP PartSurfer

According to the parts list your PC comes with a motherboard with the Intel Celeron N4120 processor.

M99687-601 MOTHERBOARD UMA CelN4120 WINDOWS

Normally, notebooks with the Intel Celeron processors only have one memory slot but all the searches I could find for that motherboard part number shows the notebook has two memory slots.

For HP 17-CN 6050A3261701-MB-A02 M99687-601 W/ Celeron N4120 CPU Motherboard | eBay

Intel indicates the Celeron N4120 processor can support up to 8 GB of memory.

Intel® Celeron® Processor N4120

You should be able to install a second 4 GB memory chip in the empty slot and have 8 GB of memory.

When I search on eBay by the HP 3200 MHz memory part number of L83673-001, I find some listings of Samsung 4 GB memory chips for sale.
