@Adbishal, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing an issue where pressing any key on your keyboard causes random applications to open on your HP Pavilion running Windows 11. Let's work together to resolve this.

Check for Stuck or Faulty Keys

Sometimes a stuck key (like the Windows key or shortcut keys) can trigger unexpected behavior.

  • Gently press all keys to ensure none are stuck.
  • Try an external USB keyboard to see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, the built-in keyboard may be faulty.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

HP provides built-in diagnostics to test your keyboard.

  • Restart your PC and repeatedly press Esc until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Keyboard Test and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Sticky Keys or Accessibility Settings

Windows accessibility features like Sticky Keys or Filter Keys can cause unusual keyboard behavior.

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
  • Turn off Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, and Toggle Keys.

Scan for Malware or Unwanted Software

Malware can cause erratic behavior including random app launches.

  • Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or a trusted antivirus.
  • You can also use Microsoft Defender Offline Scan for deeper cleaning.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

Corrupt drivers can lead to misbehavior.

  • Right-click Start > Device Manager > Keyboards.
  • Right-click your keyboard device and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC to reinstall the driver automatically.

Perform a Clean Boot

This helps identify if a background app is causing the issue.

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  • Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
  • Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
  • Disable all startup items.
  • Restart your PC and test the keyboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
