OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I see there is a Realtek Bluetooth 5 adapter driver 24H2 on the Microsoft Update Catalog. version 18.4024.2411.1912

Since HP has not give us any updates for the Omen in over a year, should we download this update and see if the Bluetooth will become better and more consistent?

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the latest Realtek ethernet driver directly from the Realtek site works for you:

2nd one on the list under the Windows drivers section:

Realtek PCIe 1G / 2.5G / 5G / 10G Ethernet Family Controller Software

I don't know what the difference is between the Win10/Win11 Auto Installation Program (NDIS) and the Win11 Auto Installation Program (NetAdapterCx) drivers (4th one on the list), so you may want to try that one as well.

All I know is after extracting the driver file from both downloads, the Win10/Win11 Auto Installation Program (NDIS) provides driver version 10.074.1128.2024 and Win11 Auto Installation Program (NetAdapterCx) provides various driver versions for specific model ethernet adapters.

The driver version looks much different though for example: 1126.022.1118.2024 for one of the ethernet controllers.

None of them start with 10.x, so if I had to take a guess, I would say that the Win10/Win11 Auto Installation Program (NDIS) is the one you want.

If you know how to install drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog website, you may want to do that, but you have to make sure that it is for the model Realtek Wi-Fi adapter your PC comes with, because there is more than one version.

This is the latest W11 24H2 driver HP currently has for the Realtek BT adapter:

RTL8852AE/8852BE/8852CE/8851BE, version 18.4017.2405.2403

RTL8852BE-VT, version 18.4017.2404.2422

RTL8821CE/8822BE/8822CE/8723DE, version 1.10.1072.3000

Thank you Paul. I don't know what model Realtek Bluetooth Adapter5 this PC comes with. It just identifies in Device Manager as Realtek Bluetooth Adapter5. So how do I know if the Microsoft  Update Catalog is correct or the https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp155001-155500/sp155460.exe  is correct?

You're very welcome.

From what I can tell, all of the PCs under the 207P7AV product number you posted all come with the Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter.

So, the driver you found on the Microsoft update catalog will not work.

Use the driver I posted from HP which is the latest one.

You may as well also update the Wi-Fi driver to the latest version:

Version 2024.10.230.2

sp157102.exe

Well, Paul, I did a restore point, and then did it. Is there an ethernet network adapter update also. My current says: Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller version 10.60.615.2022

Thank you Paul. All 3 done and worked. The wi-fi driver is not picking up my router, but I think it's a setting because of a Xfinity/Comcast setting. I am not concerned about this ( I can connect to the built in wi-fi in the Xfinity modem). This all tells me you are the champ. I did look at if the 2nd one in the ethernet driver was the choice and Microsoft said yes - merely a description so it will choose Windows 10 or 11; and I have Windows 11 - so installed just fine.

I asked and asked HP for a new BIOS and finally in 2024 we got a new BIOS. That being said this is probably due for a new BIOS because of 24H2. We will see if I get it. Thank you for being so smart and helping with these drivers. I have two other computers and I get driver updates 3-4 times a years. I just want it to work its best. You are magic!
