Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’re having trouble removing the stand from your Series 3 Pro monitor, and the standard instructions (press the button and pull) aren’t working. Let's go through a few tips to help you with the process:
1. Double-check the Button Position
- Locate the Release Button: On many monitors, the button that releases the stand is usually on the back of the monitor, near the bottom of the stand attachment point. Sometimes it’s a small button that you need to press firmly or hold down while you pull the stand off.
- Press and Hold: Some monitors require you to press and hold the release button for a few seconds before the stand becomes loose enough to detach. Try holding the button down rather than just pressing it.
2. Check for Locking Mechanism
- On some models, there’s a locking mechanism that could be holding the stand in place even after pressing the button. Look for any additional tabs, clips, or levers near the button that may need to be unlocked before the stand can be removed.
3. Apply Gentle Pressure
- If you’ve pressed the button and nothing happens, it’s possible the stand is just tightly fitted or stuck. Gently rock the stand side to side while pressing the button to see if it loosens.
- Sometimes applying a bit of gentle pressure upward while pressing the release button can help dislodge the stand.
4. Refer to the Manual
- If you have the monitor's user manual, there may be a specific step-by-step process for removing the stand (sometimes with diagrams). If you don’t have a physical manual, you can often find a PDF version online by searching the model number of your monitor along with "manual."
5. Make Sure the Stand Is Not Bolted
- If your monitor has a detachable stand with screws, ensure that there are no screws holding the stand in place. Some monitors have screws at the base of the stand, especially if it’s adjustable or intended for VESA mounting.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
