HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-es0000 (268U3AV)

Dear HP Support Team,

I’m experiencing a recurring issue with my HP laptop running Windows 11. Internet Explorer (MS Edge) keeps opening new tabs automatically without any input from me. It begins by opening the HP Support page that identifies my laptop model, but then continues to open additional tabs until it eventually displays the following error:

Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://support.hp.com/us-en/error/404?" on this server.
Reference #18.5d4bdd58.1758624445.ac7c1867
https://errors.edgesuite.net/18.5d4bdd58.1758624445.ac7c1867

I have not clicked any links or entered any URLs manually. This behaviour occurs randomly and disrupts my workflow. I’ve checked for start-up programs and scanned for malware, but the issue persists.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this or let me know if this is a known issue with HP Support Assistant or related software?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
Dave

Let me know if you'd like to add your laptop model or any screenshots. I can help you include those too.

My desktop HP computer begins instantly opening as many support pages as it can, if i open the Support assistant, otherwise not. I cannot even check the version of the assistant.

I'm waiting for help too.

Reinstalling the support assistant solved the problem.

Thanks for the solution, at least I hope it is a solution.  HP, care to explain just what happened?  This popped up a couple of weeks ago and appears to happen when I was receiving a notice of a message.  The message was for my printer, but the tabs were for all three of my devices.

Same problem here. Did you do something to solve it? Also, did reinstalling HP assistant, as another person pointed out, worked?

I ended up trying to delete the app and installed the version that was buried in the Support site.  I got an error message saying the install was corrupt and could not be used.  I had to delete the install a couple of times before I got it to work.  The app was just so clunky and slow that I deleted the app.  It was just not worth the effort.

For what it's worth, here the URL.  https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp163001-163500/sp163238.exe

Hope you have better luck.
