I’m very sorry indeed to hear about your stolen laptop. Here’s my opinion as to what you should do:
Contact your local police authorities to report the theft. They’ll provide you with a crime reference number, which might be needed for insurance claims or follow-ups.
After that, you can contact HP Customer Support by phone and provide them with your laptop’s serial number, along with the police case reference. While HP cannot track or recover stolen laptops, they can flag the serial number in their system. This could help if the laptop is sent in for repair later.
If you had any anti-theft software (such as Lowjack for Laptops) or used Windows’ built-in Find My Device feature, activate it right away to try and locate or secure the device remotely.
