@JWCoop_8-25, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding USB Hub compatibility!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

For compatibility with your specific PC, you would need to check the system requirements or compatibility list provided by the manufacturer of the USB hub.

For instance, the HP 4-Port USB Hub is compatible across most notebook and desktop platforms, requiring an available USB 2.0 or 1.1 port and supports operating systems like Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista™/7. Similar information can likely be found for the Startech USB Hub by consulting the product specifications provided by Startech.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately this does not help me. As I am not a tech savvy person, I was hoping a tech person in HP would compare the Hub with my PC and advise me of compatibility.

@JWCoop_8-25, Thanks for clarifying! Let’s keep this simple.

The Startech HB30CM3A1CB connects via a USB-C port on your PC.

If your PC has a USB-C port that can transfer data (usually marked with a small “SS” or trident USB logo), then this hub will work.
It’s compatible with most versions of Windows, macOS, and Linux — so as long as your PC isn’t too old and has that port, you’re good to go.

If you’re unsure, you can:

Check your PC’s left/right sides for a small oval-shaped USB-C port.

Look for the USB logo next to it (indicates data support).

If you tell me your PC’s exact model number, I can double-check this for you and confirm.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
