HP All-in-One PC 22-dd2000i (50M53AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I got this error and don't know what to do about it. The USB devices wok and I've tried all the methods in the link below. I even did a clean install of Windows to see if it would fix the issue. Nothing has worked. Does anyone know how to fix this?

@Sawyduwy, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating USB issues can be, especially after trying multiple fixes including a clean install. Let's go through a detailed set of steps to help resolve the "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)" error on your HP All-in-One PC 22-dd2000i.

Update USB Drivers

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  • Right-click each item (especially USB Root Hub and Generic USB Hub) and select Update driver > Search automatically.

Uninstall and Reinstall USB Controllers

  • In Device Manager, right-click each USB controller and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.

Disable USB Power Saving

  • In Device Manager, right-click each USB Root Hub > Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Ensure all USB ports are enabled.
  • Save changes and exit.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down the PC and unplug it from power.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15–30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Try HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Download and run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows.
  • Run a System Test > Component Test > USB Test to check for hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
