Hi @HalstedZ4,

  1. Press F2 at power-on to run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (memory and storage tests).
  2. Unplug all USB devices and docks, then try again.
  3. Force Windows Recovery (power off 3 times during boot) → Startup Repair, or Uninstall Updates.
  4. Update the BIOS from https://support.hp.com/drivers if you can reach Windows.

Please share your model and the full stop code.

Hello,

Thank you for the suggestion, but I have ran all of the diagnostic test, which all passed with no issues, I have tried to boot it into safe mode but then it does not boot into that mode/unable to get into the F2 menu/BIOS/Windows Recovery tool due to time out. It takes me back to the Watchdog error message and then starts the loop again.

Hi @HalstedZ4,

Thanks for the update. On your HP Laptop 15s-fq2000, since you can't reach F2, F10 or Windows Recovery, these are the most effective options:

Option 1 – BIOS recovery (Windows + B):

  1. Shut down the laptop, connect the AC adapter, and unplug all USB devices.
  2. Press and hold the Windows and B keys at the same time, then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
  3. Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B. You may hear beeps, and the HP BIOS Update screen should appear. Let it finish.

HP guide (same key combination): https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3966820-3438449-16

Option 2 – Reinstall Windows from a USB drive:

  1. On another PC, create a recovery USB with the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (or Microsoft's Windows 11 media creation tool).
  2. Plug it in, turn on the laptop and tap Esc, then F9 (Boot Device Options), and choose the USB drive.
  3. Follow the steps to reinstall Windows (this erases the drive).

If neither option gets past the HP logo, it needs service: https://support.hp.com/check-warranty

Hello,

I was able to get a windows media tool created on a USB drive, however once I had booted into it there was not a partition for the hard drive/windows to reinstall, the only partition was the USB ISO, which is odd because during the test all of the hardware passed without issue.
