HP All-in-One Desktop PC 24-cr0000a IDS Base Model

My new HP All-in-One 24-cr0000m, 23.8" computer came with a wired keyboard and a wired mouse.  Disliking the keyboard, I ordered an HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 300 combination.  The keyboard connected beautifully, but the mouse will not connect.

Any thoughts, friends?

The set:

The set uses single USB receiver which should connect to both keyboard and mouse. Did you put battery to the mouse and turn it on ? If still no luck, please send the set back (all 3 parts) and get a new set.

My suggestion: please buy a set which supports HP Link 5 OR Logitech Unifying technologies, they are more expensive but much better and will save your $$ down the track when loosing the receiver.

I certainly appreciate the prompt response from the community.  I followed both the instructions from HP and the gentleman's advice.  I submitted a request to return the items, but before this happens, HP would like to speak with me. To facilitate this, please provide your telephone number, time zone, and a convenient time to call.

I appreciate everyone's help, as I grew up on HP, and have two (2) HP printers, two (2) HP external hard drives, and now this new ALL-IN-ONE computer.
