I have a HP USB-C Dock G5 conected to Spectre X360. To the dock I have connection with RJ45 ethernet, HDMI to my AOC

monitor.

The problem I'm facing is that my wireless mouse keeps on waking my laptop, although in Windows command mode the following command shows that no peripheral should be able to make that happen :

powercfg -devicequery wake_armed   gives as result : none

I tried to move the mouse receiver from the laptop to the docking station, no difference, removed the ethernet cnnection :

no result. When I remove the HDMI connection the problem disappears.

I have installed the latest drivers and firmware from HP and also my Windows is up to date.

Are there any suggestions ( besides turning the mouse off) ??

Hello Piet43,

If your wireless mouse is waking up your HP Spectre x360 even though it shows that no device should be able to do so, there are a few steps you can take to address the issue:

  1. Check Device Manager Settings:

    • Open Device Manager on your laptop.
    • Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" section.
    • Locate your wireless mouse, right-click on it, and select "Properties."
    • Go to the "Power Management" tab.
    • Make sure that the option "Allow this device to wake the computer" is unchecked.
  2. Verify USB Power Settings:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
    • For each USB Root Hub, right-click and select "Properties."
    • Navigate to the "Power Management" tab and ensure "Allow this device to wake the computer" is unchecked.

You can even try using the DPI port instead of the HDMI on the dock

Hello CVL11,

Thank you for your suggestions, but of course I already checked all power management entries in the Device Manager.

In the meantime I replaced the motherboard in my desktop which was together with the HP-dock connected to the AOC screen which has 2 HDMI entries.. The desktop was connected to the AOC-screen via a HDMI cable that on the computer site

had a conversion connector from HDMI to DVI that was needed for the graphics card. With the new motherboard installed I was able to use a plain HDMI connection on th desktop site and the problem that the HP-dock seems to awake my laptop is gone .

Again thanks and best regards,

Piet43
