I have a HP laptop 15s-fq0004na. It’s been fine, then today the screen just flashes white when I try and boot it up. The charger cable is plugged in, the white light is showing as laptop is charged. Have tried holding the on/off button down but makes no difference. The screen flashing is intermittent, every 2-3 seconds.

@Boon77, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop not booting up!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Please try these steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Since holding the power button didn't work, try this method:

  1. Turn off the laptop completely.
  2. Unplug the charger and disconnect any peripherals (USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds.
  4. Plug the charger back in and try turning the laptop on.

2. Check for Display Issues

  • Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI cable.
  • If the external display works fine, the issue might be with your laptop's screen or display cable.

3. Perform a BIOS Reset

If your laptop powers on but doesn't display properly, try this:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Win + B, then press and hold the Power button for about 3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button while still holding Win + B.
  4. If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
