@djfrank456, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Adding HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 Printer Dashboard to Home Screen!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To add your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer dashboard to the home screen, follow these steps using the HP Smart app:

Download and Install the HP Smart App:

  • If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com or from your app store.

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Once installed, open the HP Smart app on your device.

Select Your Printer:

  • On the HP Smart home screen, ensure your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer is selected.

Access Printer Dashboard:

  • From the home screen or the navigation pane, select the option that provides access to the printer's dashboard. This might often be labelled as "Printer Status" or "Dashboard".

Bookmark or Add to Home Screen:

  • On iOS or Android devices, you can often add a web page to your home screen. If the printer dashboard displays in a web format, follow the steps below based on your device:
    • iOS:
      1. Open the printer dashboard in Safari within the HP Smart app.
      2. Tap the share button (a square with an upward arrow).
      3. Select "Add to Home Screen" and follow the prompts.
    • Android:
      1. Open the printer dashboard in Chrome within the HP Smart app.
      2. Tap the menu button (three dots).
      3. Select "Add to Home Screen" and follow the prompts.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
