@omni_book_5, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're unable to find the camera driver for your HP OmniBook 5 NGAI 16-ag1048AU, and it's not showing up in Device Manager either. Let's work through this together.
Confirm Camera Presence in BIOS
First, let’s ensure the camera is detected at the hardware level:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS.
- Look under Advanced > Built-in Device Options and ensure the Integrated Camera is enabled.
- Save and exit BIOS.
If the camera is disabled here, it won’t show up in Windows at all.
Check Windows Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Imaging Devices, Cameras, or Other Devices.
- If you see an Unknown Device or USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam, right-click and choose Update Driver > Search automatically.
Download Drivers from HP Support
While the exact model (16-ag1048AU) may not have a dedicated camera driver listed, HP uses UVC-compliant (USB Video Class) drivers that are built into Windows 11.
You can still check for all available drivers for your series here: HP OmniBook 5 16-ag1000 Series Drivers
Make sure to:
- Select Windows 11 and the correct version.
- Install the HP System Event Utility and HP Hardware Diagnostics if available.
Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- Download and install HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows.
- Run a Component Test > Webcam to verify hardware functionality.
If the camera is still missing:
- Run Windows Update and install all optional updates.
- Try using the HP Support Assistant to auto-detect and install missing drivers: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
