My HP Chromebook x360 recognizes my ET-2400 Epsom Printer but the result comes back "Failed Printer Unreachable" The connection is USB cord. The problem goes and comes...I have been able to make 2 copies...So the machines are compatible. I have gone through the Setup instructions 50 times to no avail...

@Mike0623, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble maintaining a stable USB connection between your HP Chromebook x360 14a-ca0000 and your Epson ET-2400 printer. Since you've been able to print a couple of times, it's likely a connectivity or driver communication issue rather than incompatibility.
Here are some steps to help resolve the “Printer Unreachable” error:
Check USB Cable and Port
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected on both ends.
- Try a different USB port on your Chromebook.
- If possible, test with a different USB cable to rule out cable issues.
Restart Devices
- Power off both the Chromebook and the printer.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect and power both devices back on.
Update Chromebook OS
- Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.
- Install any available updates and restart your Chromebook.
Remove and Re-add the Printer
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
- Remove the Epson ET-2400 if listed.
- Reconnect the USB cable and wait for the printer to be detected.
- If not detected automatically, click Add Printer and follow the prompts.
Use Epson Print Extension (if needed)
- Some Epson printers require the Epson Print Extension for Chrome OS.
- Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for Epson Print Enabler or check Epson’s support site for Chromebook compatibility.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
