Hello guys,
I wanted to upgrade from 2x8 gb ram to 2x16, bought ones with same speed. I placed them in the position where old ones were, slots 2 and 4. They work, the pc sees them but i can't change the speed. I upgraded from 16GB of RAM (which ran at 3200MHz) to 32GB, but now the speed is 2133MHz. If I enable XMP, the PC no longer starts — it boots but doesn't turn on properly. Also, if i change the speed in custom settings, the pc goes again in a boot-loop, but this time, after about 10 minutes it turns on... but with default settings.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

@Mitza1, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your RAM upgrade. Here are a few steps and considerations that might help resolve the problem:
Check Compatibility: Ensure that the new RAM modules are fully compatible with your laptop's motherboard. Even if the speed matches, there could be other compatibility issues.
BIOS/UEFI Settings: If XMP profiles are causing boot loops, it might be due to the motherboard not supporting those profiles properly. You might want to check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop that could improve compatibility.
Single Stick Test: Try booting your laptop with just one of the new RAM sticks installed. This can help identify if one of the sticks is faulty.
Clear CMOS: Resetting the CMOS can sometimes resolve boot loop issues. This can be done by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes or using the reset jumper on the motherboard.
Manual Configuration: If XMP profiles are not working, you might need to manually set the RAM speed and timings in the BIOS/UEFI. However, be cautious with this approach as incorrect settings can cause instability
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
