@KenDJohnson, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your desktop that does not boot after Windows 11 update!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry to hear that your desktop isn’t booting after the Windows 11 update. I’d be happy to help you figure this out. Let’s try a few steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Power Reset:

  • Turn off your desktop completely.
  • Unplug the power cable from the back of the desktop.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Plug the cable back in and try turning it on.

Check for Error Messages or Beep Codes:

  • When you try to power it on, do you see any error messages on the screen or hear any beeping sounds? This can help narrow down the issue.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Try turning on your desktop and immediately start pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key repeatedly.
  • If you can access Safe Mode, it could mean a driver or software conflict after the update.

A couple of quick questions to help me understand better:

👉 Did the update install completely, or did the issue start during the update process?
👉 Have you connected any new external devices (like USB drives or peripherals) that could be causing a boot conflict?

Let me know how it goes — we’ll figure this out together! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
