Hi @Claudio48lat

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you are encountering Error 0x800704CF on your HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-1000i running Windows 11. This error is commonly associated with a network connectivity issue where Windows is unable to access network resources or Microsoft services.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

Confirm that the desktop is connected to the internet:

  • Open a web browser and verify that websites load normally.
  • If using Wi-Fi, disconnect and reconnect to the network.
  • If using Ethernet, reseat the network cable on both ends.

Run the Windows Network Troubleshooter:

  • Select Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run Network and Internet and apply any recommended fixes.

Reset the network adapter:

  • Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network adapters.
  • Right-click the active network adapter and select Disable device.
  • Wait a few seconds and select Enable device.

Update the network driver:

  • Open HP Support Assistant or visit the HP support page for the HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-1000i.
  • Install any available network, chipset, or Windows-related updates.
  • Restart the PC after updates complete.

Perform a network reset:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
  • Select Reset now and restart the computer.

Check Windows updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install all available updates and restart the system.

If the error appears only when signing in to Microsoft services:

  • Sign out of the affected application.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Sign in again after confirming internet connectivity.

To help narrow down the cause, please let us know:

  • When does Error 0x800704CF appear (during Microsoft Store access, Windows Update, Microsoft account sign-in, OneDrive, or another activity)?
  • Is the desktop connected through Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
  • Have you already tried any of the steps above, and if so, what was the result?

This information will help us provide more targeted troubleshooting for your HP ENVY Desktop PC.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thanks! I tried everything, but it didn't work. The problem happens as soon as the PC starts. After a few seconds after the start, it pops up a notice with the error code saying that I need to have access to the Internet to complete this task. Sorry, I can't copy the exact message as my PC is in Italian language.  In Italian it says "Per questa operazione è richiesto l'accesso a Internet. Non sei connesso a Internet. Controlla la connessione e riprova.".

Thanks!
