This is the third HP laptop I’ve owned, and while most things work fine, I keep running into the same issue — the hinges start coming loose, and eventually the frame cracks. It’s frustrating because I even bought a protective case this time to prevent it, but it still happened. It really seems like HP’s frames just aren’t built to last. What’s going on with the hinge design? Is there a way to fix this without breaking the bank? I had to replace my last laptop because of this, but I can’t afford to do that again.

@nikki1252, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding broken screen issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I completely understand how frustrating this situation must be, especially since the laptop was well cared for and primarily used with a docking station. We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience.
While HP’s standard warranty doesn’t cover physical damage, repairs can still be done through our authorized service centers for a nominal charge. If you had an HP Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) plan, this type of issue would be covered, but without it, repair costs would apply.
