Hi @Immanuel007,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If you're experiencing a BIOS problem related to the hard disk and are unable to remove the screws from the motherboard, here are some steps you can take

Check BIOS Configuration:

  •  Ensure that your BIOS settings are correctly configured for the hard drive. Check the boot order to ensure your hard drive is correctly prioritized. If the BIOS is causing issues, you might want to reset it to default settings.
  • Accessing BIOS: Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup by pressing the designated key during startup (often F2, F10, Del, or Esc).
  • Resetting BIOS: Look for a reset to default or load setup defaults option. This can typically be found in the 'Exit' menu.

Remove Stuck Screws Safely:

  •  If a screw on your motherboard is stuck and prevents you from changing the hard disk, consider the following tips:
  • Use the Right Tools: Ensure you're using the correct screwdriver for the screw type. A mismatched screwdriver may strip the screw head.
  • Apply Penetrating Oil: Apply a small amount of penetrating oil to the screw and let it sit for a few minutes to loosen any grip it has on the motherboard.
  • Increase Torque Gently: Apply gentle, consistent pressure to avoid stripping the screw. If needed, use a pair of pliers for a better grip.
  • Seek Professional Help: If you're unable to remove the screw without risk, it might be best to seek the assistance of a professional technician to avoid damaging the motherboard.

BIOS Flash Update

  • If the BIOS seems corrupt, and your system model supports BIOS updates via flash, you can try updating the BIOS:
  • Download Update: Visit the HP Business Support site to download the latest BIOS update for your model.

Take care and have an amazing day!
