Hi @JimTWest3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for your question, Regarding BIOS bifurcation support on your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV):
What Is Bifurcation?
PCIe bifurcation allows a single PCIe slot to split its lanes (e.g., x16 into x8/x8 or x4/x4/x4/x4) to support multiple devices like NVMe SSDs via a riser card. This feature is typically found in workstation or enthusiast-grade motherboards.
HP Pavilion TG01 BIOS Limitations
HP consumer desktops, including the TG01 series, generally have limited BIOS customization. Based on HP’s official documentation and support tools:
- The BIOS does not expose bifurcation settings.
- HP does not officially support PCIe lane splitting on this model.
- The BIOS is designed for stability and compatibility, not advanced PCIe configurations.
What You Can Do
If you're trying to use multiple NVMe drives or a PCIe riser card:
- You may be able to use a PCIe switch-based adapter (which handles bifurcation internally).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
