hi!

I have resently purchased an old dvd burner  Its for my old Fujitsu pc...

HP Super Multi DVD Rewriter Drive Hewlett Packard Model GSA-T20L and now i want to replace my old

Samsung/toshiba dcvd rw/rw+  writer  on my old xp machine.

It has a IDE interface. Fine.  But I guess I need drivers.. Since this HP dvd is more recent than my XP is(SP3).

Can anyone please advice me where I can find the drivers to this HP Super Multi DVD Rewriter Drive Hewlett Packard Model GSA-T20L

Thanks in advance.

Hi @karirouting,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

Key information about drivers:

  • The HP GSA‑T20L is an IDE optical drive manufactured by LG for HP. Optical drives like this generally do not require special drivers for Windows XP—XP SP3 already includes the generic ATAPI drivers needed.
  • What you may need instead is a firmware update (not a driver) to ensure compatibility and stability.
  • Burning software  will provide the necessary support for writing discs. Without such software, Windows XP will only handle basic CD writing.

You can download the appropriate drivers for your HP Super Multi DVD Rewriter Drive, Model GSA-T20L, from the official HP support website by following these steps:

  1. Visit https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
  2. Enter your product model (e.g., GSA-T20L) in the search bar and select your specific product when it appears in the list.
  3. Choose your operating system from the dropdown menu.
  4. Browse the list of available software and drivers related to optical drives or DVD rewriters.
  5. Download and install the drivers that match your operating system and requirements.

I hope this helps.
