HP 8710
i changed my printer to photo paper because i was using cardstock paper and it did copy very slowly like it was printing a photo.
i have repeatedly tried changing the paper icon to copy paper and it is staying at photo paper and copying very slowly like it would a photo. can i set back to factory default?
i do not have a menu on my screen. just a home button and i have gone into every option including pressing on copy paper and it acts like it is photo paper when printing...
it is taking forever to copy one page...
help....thank you

Paper Size / Type: ? or Plain Paper

Printers do not generally like (and some won't tolerate) using a Photo paper print job setting when, in fact, you have other than photo paper loaded in the tray. Sometimes the printer might refuse to print -- other times the job might print but take forever while it fights the paper size, type, and settings.
In general, this printer supports using the printer control panel to modify / edit / confirm the paper size and type settings either after the paper is changed or after the paper tray is opened and then closed.
Reference
User Guide – HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Series
Search document for "paper size"
If the printer is on the network, (you may) use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view and / or modify the paper size and type settings -- Tray and Paper
EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)
Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
NOTE: Find printer IP address
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Reminder: If asked enter the printer’s PIN number – the default number is generally located on the back or inside the printer.
EWS – Tray and Paper Management
Original EWS
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)
Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type
Model and EWS version Dependent: Advanced section
Click Apply to save changes
EWS_9025_Preferences_Tray_and_Paper_Management_All_13
Next,
Check / Update the job settings in your application / software you are using to configure and submit the current job.
"Copy" paper might refer to "Plain Paper"
Check the settings to be sure your paper size is correct and the paper type is selected.
