Hi @chrispaterek,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really glad you reached out, and I want you to know you’re not alone in this. When a keyboard that once typed smoothly suddenly falls silent after a system reset, I’ll guide you through the exact HP‑aligned steps we recommend when a Bluetooth keyboard stops working after a Windows reset.

Let’s Restore Your Keyboard, Gently, Step by Step

1. Remove the Old Bluetooth Profile & Re‑Pair Cleanly

After a Windows reset, your PC may still “remember” the keyboard with broken or incomplete drivers.

🌟 Try this:

  1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices
  2. Click your Arteck HB305-48 keyboard → Remove device
  3. Turn the keyboard OFF → ON
  4. Enable pairing mode (most Arteck units use Fn + C)
  5. Add it again using Add Device → Bluetooth

This follows Microsoft’s own pairing flow, which applies to HP PCs as well.

You should see a soft flashing indicator light on the keyboard when it’s searching; that’s your sign it’s ready to reconnect.

2. Ensure the Keyboard Is Fully Charged

A low-battery Bluetooth keyboard may pair but refuse to type, a quiet, stubborn silence.

Arteck troubleshooting sources confirm this behavior.
Please plug it in for 15–20 minutes and try again.

3. Restart Your Bluetooth Services (Windows Reset Often Breaks These)

This is one of the most common fixes after a system reset.

  1. Press Win + R → type services.msc
  2. Restart:
    • Bluetooth Support Service
    • Bluetooth User Support Service
    • Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service

This refresh feels almost like giving Windows a deep stretch, unclogging the Bluetooth pathways so your keyboard can “speak” again.

4. Update Your HP Bluetooth / Chipset Drivers

Because you are using your motherboard’s Bluetooth, not a USB dongle, this step is essential.

Please visit Official HP® Support → Drivers and Software → Enter your PC model.

Then install:

  • Bluetooth driver
  • Wireless LAN driver
  • Chipset driver

HP System Utility (if available)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
