@TFlash, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP 14-dq0000 Laptop PC running Windows 11 is not waking up from sleep or hibernation mode. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Even if Windows updates are current, it's important to ensure the BIOS and chipset drivers are also up to date.

  • Visit the HP Support page.
  • Enter your product: HP 14-dq0000 or use your serial number.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and Intel Chipset drivers.

Change Power Settings

Sometimes, Windows power settings can interfere with wake functionality.

  • Press Windows + X → Power OptionsAdditional power settings.
  • Click Change plan settings next to your selected plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Sleep → Set Allow hybrid sleep to Off.
  • Expand USB settingsUSB selective suspend setting → Set to Disabled.
  • Click Apply and OK.

Disable Fast Startup

Fast Startup can sometimes cause wake issues.

  • Go to Control PanelPower OptionsChoose what the power buttons do.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
  • Click Save changes.

Check Device Manager for Wake Permissions

Ensure your keyboard and mouse are allowed to wake the laptop.

  • Press Windows + X → Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click each device → PropertiesPower Management tab.
  • Check Allow this device to wake the computer.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

To rule out hardware issues:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press the power button and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the System Test and Component Tests for memory and hard drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
