@123MO, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP printer is printing fine but no longer scans from your laptop. Let’s work through this together.
Here are a few steps to help resolve the issue:
Check Scanner Connection
- Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your laptop (Wi-Fi or USB).
- If using Wi-Fi, try restarting your router and reconnecting the printer.
Reinstall the Printer Drivers
Sometimes the scanner driver may become corrupted or outdated:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and choose Remove device.
- Visit HP Software and Driver Downloads and reinstall the latest full-feature driver for your printer model.
Test Scanning
- Try scanning using the HP Smart app or Windows Fax and Scan.
- If it works in one app but not another, the issue may be app-specific.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
