HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 24-k0000a (7TC07AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The screen resolution keeps changing when I start it, and I have to restart it every time, despite the recommended resolution, and I have to restart every time.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That’s definitely annoying — your HP Pavilion All-in-One 24-k0000a should be holding its screen resolution settings consistently. If it keeps reverting on startup and only corrects after a restart, it's likely due to a driver or system conflict. Let’s go step by step to troubleshoot and fix this:

Confirm Recommended Resolution

  1. Go to Settings > System > Display.
  2. Scroll to Display resolution and select 1920 x 1080 (Recommended).
  3. If it already says that and still reverts, move to the next steps.

Update or Reinstall the Display Driver

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Press Windows + X > Click on Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click on the Intel UHD Graphics or similar > Click Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.
  5. If it says the best drivers are already installed:
    • Try right-clicking > Uninstall device, then restart. Windows will reinstall a fresh copy automatically.
  6. Alternatively, download the latest graphics driver from HP’s support page for your model or directly from Intel’s website (search for your integrated GPU version).

Disable Fast Startup (Common Fix)

Fast Startup sometimes interferes with display settings:

  1. Press Windows + R, type powercfg.cpl, and hit Enter.
  2. Click Choose what the power buttons do on the left.
  3. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  4. Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
  5. Click Save changes, then restart.

Set Resolution via Intel Graphics Command Center

If your system uses Intel integrated graphics:

  1. Open Intel Graphics Command Center (or download it from the Microsoft Store).
  2. Go to Display > Resolution and set it to 1920 x 1080.
  3. Click Save as Default or Apply on Boot if available.

Check for Conflicting Startup Apps or Services

  1. Type msconfig in Start, hit Enter.
  2. Go to Startup (or open Task Manager > Startup tab).
  3. Disable anything suspicious or that might be affecting display settings (like third-party display managers or screen scaling tools).

Final Step: BIOS & Windows Updates

  1. Make sure you have the latest BIOS version for your model.
  2. Ensure Windows Updates are fully installed:
    • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
