Hi @HEMA_347
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your Windows 11 system is experiencing a glitch where the Settings app won’t open and the taskbar has disappeared.
Here are some steps to try:
Step 1: Restart Windows Explorer
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click More details if Task Manager is in a simplified view.
- Scroll down and find Windows Explorer under the Processes tab.
- Right-click Windows Explorer and select Restart.
- Check if the taskbar and settings return.
Step 2: Run System File Checker
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click File > Run new task.
- Type cmd, check Create this task with administrative privileges, and click OK.
- In the Command Prompt, type:
sfc /scannow - Press Enter and wait for the scan to complete.
- Restart your PC and check if the issue is resolved.
Step 3: Check for Windows Updates
- If you can access Task Manager, try running Windows Update manually:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click File > Run new task.
- Type ms-settings:windowsupdate and press Enter.
- If updates are available, install them and restart your PC.
Step 4: Boot into Safe Mode
- Restart your PC and press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly before Windows loads.
- Select Safe Mode with Networking.
- If the taskbar and settings work in Safe Mode, try uninstalling recent updates:
- Open Control Panel > Programs > View installed updates.
- Uninstall the most recent Windows update.
If none of these steps work, you may need to perform a system restore or reset Windows. Let me know how it goes! 😊
