@kaushik1984, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Quick Check: External USB Keyboard
Plug in an external keyboard (USB or Bluetooth).
If all keys work there, then the issue is likely with your laptop’s physical keyboard.
Reboot and Try BIOS/Startup Menu
Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly at startup to open the BIOS menu.
Try pressing the non-working keys in that menu.
If keys don't work in BIOS, it's a hardware issue (not software).
If It's a Software/Driver Issue
Uninstall & Reinstall Keyboard Driver
Right-click Start > Device Manager
Expand Keyboards
Right-click your keyboard > Uninstall device
Restart your PC — Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Update the BIOS and Drivers
Go to HP's support page for your model:
Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support
Install the latest BIOS update
Install the keyboard driver or firmware updates, if available
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Hey @kaushik1984,
Thank you for your response
Could you please let me know which specific keys you're trying to use before the system boots? On HP laptops, typically only certain keys like F8 or Esc are functional during boot for accessing BIOS or boot options.
Let me know which keys you're trying to use, and I'll be happy to assist you further.
I hope this helps.
