Hi @ajithm27

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Your OMEN 15-en1000 laptop does support Wake on LAN (WOL), but Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN) is often limited on laptops due to power-saving restrictions. Here are some steps to try:

1. Enable Wake on LAN (WOL)

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter BIOS (F10 key during boot).
  • Navigate to Advanced > Power Management.
  • Enable Wake on LAN.

Configure Network Adapter in Windows:

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
  • Expand Network Adapters and right-click your Ethernet adapter.
  • Go to Properties > Power Management.
  • Enable Allow this device to wake the computer.
  • Under Advanced, enable Wake on Magic Packet.

Test Wake on LAN:

  • Use a WOL app on another device to send a wake-up packet.
  • If successful, your laptop should wake from hibernate.

2. Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN)

  • Some HP OMEN models do not support WoWLAN when the lid is closed.
  • You can check by:
    • Opening Device Manager and selecting your Wi-Fi adapter.
    • Under Power Management, enable Allow this device to wake the computer.
    • If Wake on Magic Packet is missing, WoWLAN is likely unsupported.

Alternative Solutions

  • Use an External Keyboard/Mouse: Some gaming peripherals support wake-up functions.
  • Use Smart Plug Automation: If WOL isn’t working, a smart plug can power-cycle the laptop remotely.
