Hi @Shay116
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED" error indicates that a critical system process has unexpectedly terminated, which causes the blue screen of death (BSOD) in Windows 11. Here are steps to resolve this issue:
Initial Steps
- Fully shut down your laptop and restart it to see if the error persists.
Check for System Updates
- Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates.
Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM Tools
System File Checker:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
- Wait for the scan to complete and follow any instructions provided.
Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM):
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Check for Driver Updates
- Go to the HP Support site at HP Drivers.
- Enter your laptop model number (HP 15s-fq3003ni) and check for the latest driver updates.
- Install any necessary updates to ensure that all drivers are current.
Perform Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
- Press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run System Tests to check the hardware components for failures.
Perform System Reset
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider performing a System Reset:
- Restart your computer and immediately press F11 repeatedly to enter Windows Recovery Environment.
- Select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your PC. You can choose to keep or remove your files.
Additional Tips:
- Safe Mode: Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to diagnose if the issue persists in this mode. Restart your laptop and press F8 to select Safe Mode.
- Event Viewer: Check the Event Viewer logs for any detailed error messages that might provide clues.
