My computer has started a constant dinging for about the last 2 months; I used to be able to turn it off and restart and it would stop - now it just keeps dinging.  I have tried everything to find out how to repair this issue.  Also want to know what is the blinking lite that is on the left side of my computer.

@pamalallah, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The constant dinging sound and the blinking light you're seeing are likely happening because your laptop is not completing the POST (Power-On Self-Test). This usually means there's a hardware problem preventing the system from starting correctly.

These sounds and blinks are actually error codes that HP laptops use to help identify what's wrong (like faulty RAM, motherboard, battery, etc.).

I suggest you refer to this guide: HP Notebook PCs - Computer beeps or a light blinks during startup | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
