Hello,

If your HP Z1 G9 Tower Desktop with Windows 11 is not activating, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check Windows Activation Status

  1. Go to Settings: Click on the Start menu, then select Settings (the gear icon).
  2. Access Activation: Navigate to System > Activation. Here, you should see the activation status of your Windows.

Common Solutions

  1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet, as Windows activation requires an active internet connection.

  2. Troubleshoot Activation:

    • In the Activation window, there should be an option for "Troubleshoot." Click on this to run the activation troubleshooter. This tool can identify and resolve common activation issues.
  3. Verify Product Key: Ensure that you have a valid product key. If Windows was pre-installed, this key may be embedded in the BIOS.

    • If prompted, you may enter a product key to activate Windows. Otherwise, ensure you're using the correct edition of Windows that matches your product key.
  4. Digital License: If your Windows 11 should be activated with a digital license (linked to your Microsoft account), make sure you're signed in with the correct account.

Additional Considerations

  • Recent Hardware Changes: If you've recently changed significant hardware on your computer, such as the motherboard, you might need to reactivate Windows. This sometimes requires contacting Microsoft Support.

  • Ensure Correct Windows Edition: Double-check that the installed version of Windows 11 matches what your license covers. For example, if you have a license for Windows 11 Home, make sure that’s the version installed and not Windows 11 Pro.
