Hello, I am having an issue with my OmniBook ultra. My device does not seem to be able to see my camera. I have tried a good bit of different fixes. I was originally having an issue when I opened the camera that it would only should the Poly camera Icon, I uninstalled poly camera and at that point was showing error code

I have tried all the steps offered in this thread, " Solved: Camera stopped working. Error code:0xA00F4244<nocamerasattac... - HP Support Community - 936... " and have had no luck. I have tried to reinstall windows and all drives that have to do with the camera. I have taken a flight recently and am not aware of any drops or falls during that time.  I am also currently living outside of the US for school. I have reached out to the schools IT office, but I was seeing if anyone has any more ideas. I do have tools to open the PC and had some experience fixing computers, but not much with laptops and would not like to void the warranty. Has there been any reports about the camera cable disconnecting internally.

Hi @edavisdvm,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding integrated camera issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Device Manager:

  • Search Windows for "Device Manager" and open it.
  • Expand the category for "Cameras" or "Imaging Devices."
  • Ensure that your integrated camera appears in this list without any warning signs like a yellow triangle or red X.

Update Drivers:

  • Right-click on your camera in Device Manager and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow any prompts.

Reinstall the Camera Driver:

  • If the automatic update does not work, right-click the camera and select "Uninstall device."
  • After uninstalling, restart your computer to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.

Privacy Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" in Windows, click on "Privacy," and then "Camera."
  • Make sure "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned on.
  • Check that the apps you want to use with the camera have permission to access it.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to "Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update" and check if any updates are pending. Install any available updates.

Use HP Support Software:

  • Consider downloading the HP Support Assistant or HP Image Assistant to diagnose and update any potential driver issues specifically from HP's site.

Poly Camera Pro:

  • If Poly Camera Pro was causing issues, ensure it is completely uninstalled by following the correct procedure. You can also reset some settings in Poly Camera Pro, as sometimes it might conflict with the camera if not properly configured.

I hope this helps.
