Is there any reason a USB 3.0 USB-A to USB-C cable won't work when connected to the V72 bar from a laptop or other PC?

Hello @JD-York , Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the Poly device.

I understand you're trying to use a USB-A to USB-C cable to connect the Poly Studio V72 to your PC or laptop, and it's not functioning as expected.

To clarify, the cable you're using may not be fully compatible with the V72. For optimal performance and full functionality, we recommend using the USB-C to USB-C cable that was included in the box with the V72. This cable is specifically designed to support the required power and data transfer capabilities for the device.

Using the original USB-C to USB-C connection ensures better compatibility and a more stable experience with both video and audio.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello Salman and thank you for your reply. The thing is I didn't try a USB-A to C cable yet so I'm not having issues. But I have a scenario where a USB-C to C cable is not an option as I can't find any information on a specific cable that would work and has been tested. Basically, the V72 would be shared between two PC's on a hub that is existing but has only USB-A ports. If I used one, what functionality might be missing or compromised as opposed to using the included USB-C to C cable?

Thank you for your response @JD-York,

As noted, Poly recommends connecting the device to your PC using the USB-C to USB-C cable provided in the box to ensure full functionality and optimal performance.

However, if your setup includes a hub and a USB-A to USB-C cable, you are welcome to try that configuration. If you encounter any issues while connecting the device to your PC, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll be happy to assist further.
