Hello Abcd458,

Thank you for your query,

Changing the PC Username

To change your PC username on Windows, you would typically need to change the name associated with your account, which is often linked to your Microsoft account or local account. Here’s a general guide:

For a Local Account:

  1. Open Control Panel:

    • Press Windows key + R, type control, and hit Enter.
  2. User Accounts:

    • Click on "User Accounts" and then "User Accounts" again.
  3. Change Your Account Name:

    • Click on “Change your account name.”
  4. Enter New Username:

    • Type in your desired new username and click on “Change Name.”

For a Microsoft Account:

  1. Sign into Microsoft Account:

  2. Edit Profile Information:

    • Go to "Your info" and click on "Edit name."
  3. Update Name:

    • Enter your new first and last name and save the changes.

Note: This process changes the display name, but might not change the actual folder name for the user profile in C:\Users\.

If these steps don't apply based on your operating system or specific setup, let me know with more details, and I can assist you further!

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
