I use the smart app on my phone to scan documents to my phone. I have done it several times but my app is now telling me that my printer does not have this capability. I have turned off the printer and turned it back on I have also reset my phone. It's still saying that my printer does not have this capability when it does and has done this scan several times.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Unable to scan from phone" issue.
What phone are you using the printer with, Android or an iphone?
What is the exact error message you're receiving?
Try a power reset on the printer-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet
Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart App?
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
