HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek1000 (742H9AV)

Hi.

I've had my HP Pavilion for less than two weeks. the first time I connected my headphones sony wh-1000xm3 and my in ears TOZO-T10 I had no issue with the audio. But by my second time trying to connect the headphones, the sound sounded terrible, it kept glitching it worked when I turned the laptop off and on again and my headphones as well once. But it hasn't worked no matter what I did. I ran an audio troubleshooting and it said everything was fine.

Google told me to uninstall my headphones in the device manager and reinstall with a link that was on the post. The link didn't work. However when I restarted my laptop everything was fine, except my headphones had disappeared from the bluetooth list and when I tried connecting them the laptop couldn't find it. Both my headphones and inears work fine on my phone. I'm getting so frustrated now. I had issues with the screen as well, although it was a quick fix its just annoying since it all brand new. If anyone know what to do please help me out.

Kind Regards a frustrated uni guy

Hi @elias_help3x,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re dealing with both Bluetooth connectivity and audio quality issues on your HP Pavilion x360 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop, which can be frustrating, especially on a new device. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Remove All Paired Devices from Bluetooth

  • Unpair the headphones completely:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
    • Find your Sony WH-1000XM3 and TOZO-T10 in the list of paired devices.
    • Click on each and select Remove device.
  • After unpairing, try re-pairing the headphones.

Reset Bluetooth Adapter

  • Restart the Bluetooth adapter:
    • Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu).
    • Expand Bluetooth and right-click on your Bluetooth adapter (usually labeled something like "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" or similar).
    • Select Disable device, wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select Enable device.

Update Bluetooth and Audio Drivers

  • Make sure both the Bluetooth adapter and audio drivers are up to date:
    • Open Device Manager and right-click on the Bluetooth adapter.
    • Choose Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
    • Do the same for Sound, video, and game controllers, focusing on your audio driver (likely a Realtek or Intel driver).
    • Alternatively, go to HP's official driver support page for your laptop model and download the latest drivers manually.

Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Bluetooth Power Management Settings

  • Sometimes Windows power management settings can interfere with Bluetooth.
    • Go to Device Manager, right-click on your Bluetooth adapter, and select Properties.
    • Under the Power Management tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Reset Bluetooth Settings

  • You can reset your Bluetooth settings by running the following commands in Command Prompt (as an Administrator):
    • Open Command Prompt (search in Start Menu and right-click to "Run as administrator").
    • Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:

net stop bluetooth support service

net start bluetooth support service

Check for Windows Updates

  • Sometimes an update may fix the issue:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates.
    • If there are any pending updates, install them.

Reinstall Bluetooth Driver

  • As a last resort:
    • In Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and choose Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Check for Interference

  • Bluetooth issues can sometimes arise from interference with Wi-Fi. Try disconnecting from Wi-Fi or switching to a different frequency band (like 5 GHz) and see if the Bluetooth audio improves.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
