Poly Focus 2
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi! My team from UK recently asked me to check what is happening with their headsets at the office. They are all using Poly Focus 2 headsets with usb dongles. And at one point, when somebody at the office picks up his headset, it may actually connect to different laptop via dongle and disrupt work calls while doing so.
Any idea what can it be? I was surprised when I was having a call with office manager, and during the call her headset connected to different person's laptop, and that person instead-connected his headset to her laptop and surprisingly asked "hey, why am I suddenly in a call with you?"
Isn't it supposed to work only when you switch headset to "pair" mode and connect it with help of poly app? And not like, randomly connecting whenever it feels like?

Hi @VladNickInt  Welcome to Poly HP Support Community.

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing with the Voyager Focus 2 headset. I completely understand how important it is to have the headset functioning seamlessly, especially during critical calls. To help resolve this matter, I’d like to suggest a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. Update the headset firmware: Please ensure the headset firmware is up-to-date by using the Poly Lens application on your PC.
  2. Set the headset as default: Confirm that the headset is set as the default audio device on both the PC and softphone applications.
  3. Check previous connections: Verify that the headset is not connected to any other device, such as a BT700 dongle, that could be causing interference.
  4. Test on a different PC: To isolate the issue further, please try connecting the headset to a different PC to see if the issue persists.

If the issue still persists, I would request you contact our HP Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.
