Voyager Surround 80 M UC USB-C
Microsoft Windows 11

The Poly Voyager Surround 80 UC (233.775.0.5043) never turns off, even when the on/off switch is in the "off" position. I've tried multiple times to slide the switch on and off and have reset the headset using the Poly Lens app (both on Android and Windows), but the PC/phone continues to show the headset as connected. I also tried using the BT700 dongle on my PC, but the issue persists.

I am extremely disappointed, as I just unpacked a new headset today. I've already seen the same issue reported by other users with other Poly headsets.

Hello, @eReS, and welcome to the HP Poly community.

I am sorry to hear that you are facing issues with the Poly Voyager Surround 80 UC.

This is to inform you that, as you have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps, I request you to contact the seller for a replacement if the headset is under 30 from the date of purchase. It was a business purchase directly from HP.

I cannot mark your reply as 'accepted solution' as I still have a defective unit.

Thank you so much for the information. @eReS

It seems like you have tried almost all the troubleshooting, and it looks like the headset is faulty. I would request that you contact HP Support to get the headset replaced if it is under warranty, and our support engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

Another "nice" observation while I wait to get my unit replaced...

I've been using the headset continuously during the day, trying to discharge the battery to see if it helps with the power-off issue.

There is no problem when I'm simply listening to music from my PC – everything works fine (except for the power-off issue).

However, when I'm on a Microsoft Teams call, a strange, distorted voice randomly starts. I'm unable to understand anyone on the call, and I have to drop the call and reconnect. The fact that it's advertised as "Microsoft Teams Certified" just makes me laugh.
I've never had this issue with my Plantronics Voyager 8200 or with other headsets I used while waiting for the Surround 80 delivery, so it's definitely an issue with the new headset.
I would never recommend the Surround 80 UC to anyone – it's just an expensive crap.

I am extremely sorry for the issue. Please wait for the replacement unit, and I hope that the issues are resolved. @eReS
